Sandboarding in Swakopmund Sandboarding, the lying down style, reaching speeds up to 80 kph. This is me going down for the first time at about 45 to 50 kph and a second time a little faster and finally the fasted ride of them all. The fastest ride, called "Dizzy", really gave me an adrenaline rush. So much so that I wanted to do that one again, trying to go even faster. Needles to say that went wrong. The board dug itself into the sand at maximum speed and catapulted me into the air. After 5 or 6 salto's I finaly came to a complete stop ... head first into the sand. I had sand coming out of my ears for days.
